Where To Eat

OK, we finally found a Chinese restaurant that was good enough to eat in Charlottesville.  It seems there are plenty of good Thai restaurants, but until recently, we had to quench our lust for Chinese food by driving to Washungton, DC.

Asian Fusion

Prime Rib--Aberdeen Barn

Consistently good 6 oz. filet--The Outback--complete with a loaf of Pumpernickle bread, salad with blue cheese dressing, and a fully loaded "Jacket" potato.  YUM!

Ice Cream--We most frequently visit Dips 'n Sips (our swim team often goes there as a group after meets), but we also like Maggie Moo's and Ben & Jerry's.

Tea--

Coffee--There are two types of people in this world, those who love Dunkin' Donuts and those who hate Starbucks.  Our days of supporting the corner drug addicts that are Starbucks, are over with the X-Mass purchase of our Keurig one-cup-at-a-time coffee maker (LOVE IT!).  Yup, no more $8 for 2 cups of coffee in the afternoon @ Starbucks. But when we DO go out for coffee, usually early in the morning on our way north, we like to visit Dunkin's.

And, Dunkin' Donuts just made a new saure into the area with a new shop up 29 a few miles and supposedly another opening closer to the Forest Lakes area (also off Rte 29).

Sandwiches--The Carving Board

Hot Dogs--

Burgers--Martin's Grill
Five Guys

Thai--Thai 99, I love the Panang Curry, Hot, with a combination of chicken and tofu.  Haven't been bold or naive enough to try "Native" heat, yet!  I also love their Thai iced tea.
